Do not shy away from the Facts  (Indranil Mukherji)

There has been rumors in the past that captaincy had affected Indian Skipper Saurabh Ganguly one-way or other. Media (Pint/Electronics) have always certain vested interest to say and especially the media persons from West and South are been very biases, also some Players turned journalists (say Ravi Shastry, Sanjay Manjrekar, Maninder Singh, Bishen Bedi, from India, Ian Chappel, and others from western press) seems to enjoy their new avtar of commentator and with all the backing of “World-Tel” they shamelessly criticizes the Skipper. These Know all jokers have their own agenda for which they are being paid good and being asked to speak all the utter rubbish which has now seen as very personnel to Indian Skipper.

Facts & Figures

As a captain of the Indian team we Indians have a very less option to choose from, say, Col C K Nayudu, Lala Amarnath, Vijay Hazare, Poly Umrigar, Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi, Bishen Singh Bedi, Sunil Gavaskar, Kapil Dev, Mohd Azharuddin, K Srikkanth, Sachin Tendulkar and Saurabh Ganguly. All the so-called captains were super performer on their own right, and that’s the reason they were bestowed captaincy. Things started changing the moment they were appointed captains as their performance detoured also with their ego’s started developing with increasingly high speed. Lobbying for the players without much talent for their respective Zones were the major hic-up which country paid heavily. It was with their individual performance, which started, hitting the rock, one series after another we failed to produce results on the overseas and on the Indian soil we believed to be a TIGER, which we were not. Statistics shows all their standings and their career graph, also after bidding final adieu to their respective carrier search for job ended by moving to the Electronic media and getting enrolled in their salaried staff. Its obnoxious that some of them had become who’s who in the field of cricket commentator and had acquired all the rights to criticize few players, trying to become sort of King pin or Godfather which is the most sordid state one can ever think of. They had created their own Blue-Eyed Boys and can go to any extent to safeguard their interests. All the rights like who will open the innings, who will bat in No 1, who should be kicked out of the team and other things which they try to impose. Here Saurabh seems to be the most hated guy in the media circle irrespective to the fact that the entire team dot on to him, the youngsters have the highest regard and warmth for him, but BCCI members with the self acclaimed know-all commentators are firing all their cylinders against him and that too in such a shameless manner that they tend to forget that he is also human.

**I Hope people are capable to understand that Sourav Chandidas Ganguly has the maximum no of centuries with just 77 ODI caps as an captain. He has the maximum winning percentage shared with Kapil. But we should see batting average and no of centuries and half centuries that sourav has scored.

His batting average as captain is in fact more than his personal all time ODI average.

A fighter of its own right Saurabh has fought his way where he is now today, understanding the criticality of Cricket he is miles ahead of his colleagues whether it is Sachin, Rahul or any else. Class never dies and he had proved it more than once, so why don’t the vested interests are better kept in the closet and we fight for our country, because no one is Bigger/Greater than the country. World Cup is coming and still the selectors/BCCI are in dilemma for the searching spree for the coveted post of captaincy. Rest of the other stalwarts like players from Australia, Pakistan, and others had agreed to the fact that only Saurabh has the capacity to lead the country but to the best of the knowledge of BCCI/Selectors don’t believe to it.
